ONIXline, BLUEline and BLUEline NOVA Börger pumps

Börger rotary lobe pumps are divided into three product categories: ONIXline, BLUEline and BLUEline Nova (which in turn is further divided into BLUEline Nova Clean and BLUEline Nova Tough). Although the operating principle of all these pumps is the same – a rotary shaft transfers the medium from the suction port to the discharge port (and this operation can be performed in both directions), the specific differences, the special specifications of each of these pump series make them suitable for various tasks.

ONIXline pumps

The ONIXline rotary lobe pumps were developed by means of the most advanced flow simulation technology and experience in rotary lobe pump construction from several decades. The pump stands for gentle, practically pulsation-free pumping with maximized efficiency. The large sealing chamber makes the use of different sealing systems and work with extremely aggressive materials possible.

ONIXline pump technology allows efficient pumping of materials even when extremely high pressures are required – up to 16 bar. It is also possible to work with very high temperature materials, even up to 200 °C.

PUMP SERIES SPEED (in RPM) FLOW RATE (in m3/val) MAX. PRESSURE (in bar) MAX. TEMP. (°C)
ONIXline BJ 090 1 – 800 0.05 – 45 16 200
ONIXline BJ 140  1 – 800 0.08 – 65 13 200
ONIXline BL 190  1 – 800 0.11 – 90 16 200
ONIXline BL 280  1 – 800 0.17 – 135 13 200

The ability to pump aggressive, hot materials and offer extremely high pressure parameters are not the only good features of ONIXline pumps:

  • Quick access to all parts that have a contact with media. In order to service or repair the pump, convenient access to the internal components is required. This can be done in ONIXline pumps by removing the only protective cover from the casing, which has a quick-release function.
  • Protective plates. In order to increase the durability of the pump, special plates are used to protect the casing. When they wear out, the pump will no longer be able to develop the required parameters (due to the gaps between the rotor lobes and the pump casing) – in this case, the plates are simply replaced and the pump continues to work as new. This process takes up to 30 minutes, and most importantly, it protects the pump casing from wear, thus saving a lot of time and money.
  • Rotors. ONIXline pumps feature a special rotor geometry, 90° thread type rotors allowing for pulsation-free pumping.
  • Seal chamber. The large chamber allows these pumps to be equipped with various mechanical seals, which allows the pumps to be adapted to work with many materials, even very aggressive ones.
  • Power transmission system. An advanced gear system ensures performance and precision – this is reflected in the technical parameters.
  • Porting for circulation system. ONIXline pumps have a unique feature – a porting for the circulation system, which can be used as additional protection for mechanical seals.

BLUEline pumps

The BLUEline rotary lobe pump has been used successfully in different sectors for many years. The high reliability and long service life of the pump convince our customers. The pumps are divided into PL, CL, FL, EL and XL models, according to that some technical characteristics can be distinguished.

PUMP SERIES SPEED (in RPM FLOW RATE (in m3/val) MAX. PRESSURE (in bar MAX. TEMP. (°C)
BLUEline PL 1 – 700 0.11 – 115 8 200
BLUEline CL 1 – 600 0.23 – 185 8 200
BLUEline FL  1 – 600 0.34 – 410 12 200
BLUEline EL  1 – 600 0.62 – 1100 10 200
BLUEline XL  1 – 450 1.1 – 1440 10 200

BLUEline pump

The wide range of applications makes the Börger BLUEline series pumps irreplaceable helpers in situations where thick materials, materials with solid particles need to be pumped, and in situations where dry running cannot be avoided, which can be disastrous for traditional centrifugal technology pumps.

BLUEline NOVA pumps

Although at first glance the BLUEline NOVA pumps are practically identical to the standard BLUEline pumps –  the two series hide some differences inside. The NOVA pumps have a larger seal chamber, which allows for a wider range of seal options. In addition, these pumps can be used without protective plates. Probably the most important and biggest update is the newly designed lobe rotors, called DIUS. The rotors, manufactured with the help of computer simulations, optimize the pumping process, making it smoother. This is the optimal choice for anyone seeking high efficiency – perfectly suited for continuous operations that last for a long time.

The BLUEline NOVA series pumps are divided into two sub-categories: CLEAN and TOUGH.

CLEAN is designed for pumping clean, non-abrasive media. This pump has very little dead space – media where the pumped material can settle and accumulate. For this reason, NOVA series pumps can be used without protective plates. The pump can be cleaned in accordance with CIP (cleaning in space) and SIP (sterilization in place) requirements.

BLUEline NOVA TOUGH pumps are designed for working with media containing aggressive, abrasive media. In contrast to the CLEAN version, TOUGH series pumps can only be used with protective plates.

All pumps in the BLUEline NOVA series can be adapted to work in various conditions. For example, if the pump is required to work in a potentially explosive environment, Börger can implement all the requirements of the European ATEX regulation (2014/34/EU). The flexibility of execution is also in the installation of the pumps – they can be directly connected to the engine (thus eliminating the need for a rigid foundation), can be mobile (mounted on trailers, carts, vehicles), submersible or simply stationary, depending on which solution best meets your needs.

PUMP SERIES SPEED (in RPM FLOW RATE (in m3/val) MAX. PRESSURE (in bar MAX. TEMP. (°C)
BLUEline AN 1 – 800 0.03 – 35 10 200
BLUEline PN 1 – 800 0.06 – 75 12 200
BLUEline QN  1 – 600 0.14 – 110 8 200
