Bypass for the upgrading of the general sewer on Zielona Street in Lodz, Poland

Lodz, Poland As part of the reconstruction of the DN 1000 general sewer, a concept was developed for a temporary pumping station, necessary for the construction of the cross-town tunnel connecting, the Kaliska and Fabryczny railway stations in Lodz, Poland.

The project was ordered by our regular business partner, who specified the pumping parameter requirements. The key task was to pump general sewage with a flow rate of approximately 700 m³/h over a distance of 100 metres.
Due to the specific nature of the location – the discharge pipeline was to be constructed under an existing, operational tramway line in a strictly built-up area in the city centre. The installation had to be characterised by increased safety standards and noise reduction. Limited installation space forced the use of an extended suction solution, and in addition, the relevant permits had to be obtained to shut down traffic on Zielona Street.

RENTA PUMPS solutions:
RENTA PUMPS approached the project with complete professionalism and integrity. Within strict deadlines, following a visit by our experienced team, a comprehensive risk assessment was carried out and optimal solutions were proposed. A 3D design, including the dimensions of the entire installation and a detailed technical description, was presented to our client and was a key element in the approval of the concept by the infrastructure managers.
The installation, consisting of 4 Hidrostal F10k pumps with a total capacity of 4,000 m³/h, a DN500 extended suction system and a DN200 split discharge line, was installed within 2 days. The pumping tests carried out confirmed the failure-free and safe operation of the installation, which was of key importance due to the route of the pipeline under the tramway line. The installation of PLC containers enabled precise monitoring and control of the pumping station, while a CAT 500 kVA generator ensured uninterrupted power supply to the pumps and inverters.
The realisation of the project is an example of the use of modern technical solutions that combine high operational efficiency with minimising the impact on the urban environment.
