Bypass for the renovation of the combined sewer on Zbikowska Street in Pruszkow

Pruszkow, Polska On behalf of the Municipal Water and Sewage Company in Warsaw, our regular customer undertook the renovation of a 1600 x 800 canal with which raw sewage flows into the sewage treatment plant, which serves 165,000 residents of Warsaw-Ursus, Pruszkow, Piastow, Michalowice, Ozarow Mazowiecki and Brwinow. Our task was to provide a comprehensive installation of a temporary sewage pumping station.

Main assumptions of the bypass:
– capacity of temporary pumping station system approx. 1200 m3/h
– suction system made of steel pipe DN 500, installation depth 5 m
– discharge line made of HDPE DN 300 pipes, 160 m long, routed in terrain with varying heights
– full supervision of pump operation 24/7 by remote monitoring system
– power supply by a CAT 110 kVA unit in a sound-proofed enclosure

RENTA PUMPS solutions:
Following multifaceted consultation with the client and a detailed analysis of the field conditions, RENTA PUMPS developed and implemented a comprehensive replacement pumping system. Initially, mobile BBA BA 180KS diesel pumps were used to quickly assess the extent of damage to the sewer, enabling efficient and precise diagnosis of the condition. Once the cost estimate had been approved and the materials for the rehabilitation of the 20-metre section had been prepared, the RENTA PUMPS team, in full cooperation with the client, installed a temporary pumping station with a capacity of approximately 1,200 m³/h.

The depth of the sewer required the optimisation of the suction conditions, so with the support of the Client, the ground at the intake point was lowered by 2.5 m, which significantly improved the efficiency of the installation. Finally, the discharge line was diverted into the designated chamber of the outfall channel, so as to ensure the correct flow direction and eliminate the risk of sewage backflow into the section under repair. A CAT 110 kVA generator, supplied and supervised by RENTA PUMPS, was responsible for reliable power supply. The entire system was connected to remote telemetry monitoring, which enabled continuous 24-hour control of the operating parameters and immediate response to any deviations.
